Abstract
In this article, I note the importance of Antonio Lauria‐Perricelli's work where Lauria‐Perricelli assesses the seminal work led by Julian Steward on Puerto Rico. Lauria‐Perricelli has interrogated the political labor that produced The People of Puerto‐Rico while he has recognized and acknowledged the importance of the work for anthropology. Although this dialectic is a challenging one, I maintain that it is equally fertile. It is a dialectic, however, that is absent from the field of modern Greek studies, where no ethnographic work has been carried out on the Cold War by anthropologists who worked in and on Greece during that time with the result that the anthropological material that could have been gathered, considered, and analyzed, is forever lost.
